The Joys of Ice Cream

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!!  But wait, would you scream for melted ice cream?!

Going to get a scoop of ice cream is one of the oldest standing American traditions.  Yes, it’s true that we use to have the lonely three flavors of Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry (nothing against them), but now we have even surpassed the 31 flavors made famous by Baskin Robbins.  We have incorporated nuts, nuggets, bubble gum, toffee and everything else imaginable!  We have even dressed ice cream up in hot fudge, peanuts and whipped cream and finished it off with a cherry hat.

But here’s a puzzling thought….what if Baskin Robbins didn’t have an ice cream counter to keep all of the displayed ice cream cold and ready for you to get a scoop of? What if they also didn’t a have a walk in refrigerator to keep all of the back up ice cream cold?  Without these necessary, ingenious inventions the world itself may be ice cream-less.  It would instead just be cream, a very sad thought.

Next time you feel the urge for a scoop of your favorite flavor, ponder that thought.  What if we only had cream and no ice cream?
